About Stacey
Stacey Bayer (She/Her)
Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.
Whether you’re seeking support for a specific challenge or working through longer-term patterns that feel stuck in your body and mind, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you in your healing process. My work is grounded in the belief that our bodies hold the stories of our lives — and that healing begins when we learn to listen to what our nervous system is communicating.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis – Brown School of Social Work. I’m trained in EMDR and currently completing the advanced year of Somatic Experiencing® training. My clinical focus includes trauma, eating disorders, body image, anxiety, depression, and attachment challenges. I draw from somatic and relational approaches that integrate body awareness, mindfulness, and curiosity to support nervous system regulation and deeper self-connection.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in diverse settings — from community mental health trauma teams to residential and outpatient eating disorder treatment, where I also served as Assistant Clinical Director. These experiences have shaped my integrative, person-centered style. I use Somatic Experiencing®, Attachment Theory, EMDR, and parts work to help clients reconnect with their bodies, process trauma safely, and build resilience through embodied awareness and compassion.
My approach is compassionate, direct, and often playful. I believe healing doesn’t always have to be painful — it can also involve curiosity, humor, and moments of joy. I work from a Health at Every Size (HAES) and trauma-informed lens, creating an inclusive space where all bodies and identities are respected and welcomed.
Outside the therapy room, you can find me exploring the outdoors with my dogs, Athena and Gracie, caring for my plants, kayaking, hiking, or volunteering with rescued wolves at a local sanctuary — the places where I reconnect with my own nervous system and sense of aliveness.
